Boarding

Going on vacation or a business trip? Or simply need a place for your pet to stay while work is being done on your house?

Board your pet with us in our indoor air-conditioned/heated facility.

Dogs are individually let outside into our fenced-in back yard for a potty break while their cage is cleaned.

Give yourself peace of mind knowing your pet is at the best place in the event of an illness while your away--at the vet’s where the doctor routinely checks on each boarder.

Boarding facility sizes range from small cages to large runs. Cage sizes and boarding fees are based on your pet's weight.

Dogs staying longer than 72 hours will receive a complimentary bath. Cats staying longer than 72 hours will also be bathed at owner's request. This is a good time to ask us to apply monthly flea treatment for a small additional charge.

Book early--spaces go fast!

Dental Care

Just like you, dental care is important for your pet’s good health. Dental disease causes bacteria to enter the bloodstream through infected gums, causing heart and kidney disease as well as straining the immune system.

Bad breath and red, swollen gums are signs that your pet needs immediate attention. If left unattended, gingivitis will lead to periodontal disease and eventual tooth loss. To break this cycle, we recommend a regular home dental care program and periodic professional dental cleanings.

Home dental care consists of dental chews, special diets, a plaque prevention gel, oral rinses, or brushing with toothpaste specially formulated for your pet. Ask us to recommend a program which would fit your needs.

A complete dental cleaning includes scaling above and below the gum line, polishing, and a fluoride treatment. Dental x-rays are also done to better see dental problems below the gum line that may exist in your pet. Severe dental disease may require tooth extractions, pain medication, periodontal implants, and/or oral antibiotics. These services will be done at an additional charge to the normal dental cleaning fee.

Dental cleanings are done Mon-Fri, please call ahead to schedule an appointment. We ask that your pet be taken off food and water after midnight the night before the dental.

Dental cleanings are a day procedure, so your pet will need to be dropped off between 7am-9am, and may be picked up after 5pm that same day.

Grooming

While we are not a full-service groomer, we do provide the following basic grooming services to help keep your pet feeling clean and fresh:

  • Medicated Baths
  • All-Over Body Shaves
  • Nail Trims
  • Express Anal Glands
  • Pluck and Clean Ears
  • Apply Topical Flea Medication
  • Baths and body shaves are done Mon-Fri, please call ahead to schedule an appointment. These two services require a day's stay for your pet; therefore, your pet will need to be dropped off between 7am-9am, and may be picked up after 5pm that same day.

    Health Screening

We perform a blood work-up anytime your pet is scheduled for surgery, be it routine or serious. Also, as your pet ages it may require different care; therefore, we encourage you to have a health screening performed on your pet at 7 years of age.

Health screening involves a physical exam, CBC (Complete Bloodcell Count), Chemistry Panel, and Urinalysis.

These tests help screen for liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes, anemia, leukemias, platelet deficiencies, and urinary tract infections before they become clinically evident. Some diseases are treatable early in the disease process (such as liver and kidney disease), but if allowed to progress, the damage may be irreversible.

If you would like us to perform this important health screen for your pet, please call our office to schedule an appointment.

    Sick Pet Care

Even though we hope it never happens, your pet may suffer from minor to major ailments. If you feel your pet needs medical attention, call and set up an appointment.

Our clinic features on-site laboratory services, X-ray capabilities, a surgical facility, complete dentistry, and emergency care.

After your pet has been thoroughly examined, most of your pet's prescription medications can be filled on site. In the event we don't have the needed medication, we will be glad to call in the prescription to your local pharmacy.

    Surgery

We offer the following surgical procedures for your pet:

  • Spaying/Neutering *
  • Declawing (Cats)
  • Tail Docking
  • Dewclaw Removal
  • Tumor Removal
  • Eyelid Correction
  • We are also equipped and experienced to perform more serious procedures such as intestinal surgery, bladder stone removal, amputations, and other soft tissue surgeries.

Surgeries are done Mon-Fri, please call ahead to schedule an appointment. We ask that your pet be taken off food and water after midnight the night before surgery.

Cat declaws are an overnight procedure in order to keep your pet confined to help prevent complications and administer medicine. We ask that your pet be dropped off between 7am-9am on the day of the scheduled surgery, and picked up after 10am the next day.

Neuters (and most spays), however, are a day surgery procedure, so your pet can be dropped off between 7am-9am, and picked up after 5pm that same day.

    * To decrease the risk of your pet developing certain cancers, we recommend spaying or neutering your pet between 4-6 months of age, but it can be done at any time.
